Pantone are colors that are selected from pre-printed rocks. The rocks are printed on paper and give an idea of the color we are looking for. For example, fashion collections choose colors and print them on such papers and are called Pantone of the fashion collection, Pantone 2018, Pantone winter, Pantone of my room, etc. More scientifically, Pantone is a color matching system or a standard color reproduction system. By standardizing colors, different manufacturers in different locations can rely on the Pantone system to ensure that colors match without direct contact with each other.
Since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute has declared a certain color "Color of the Year". Twice a year the company hosts a secret meeting in the European capital of representatives of groups of color standards of different countries. After two days of presentations and debates, they choose a color for next year.
